Assassination Attempts? Bring it on!
The Washington Times is a running a story today that Al Queda is planning to assassinate "major" U.S. officials at home or abroad. Backcountry Conservative has more on it. Excuse me for playing it cute, but in the grand scheme of things, is an assassination of a symbolic government figure truly as bad as blowing up a busload of children? As bad as releasing mustard gas on the D.C. Metro or the Chicago El? As bad as flying a small explosive filled plane into a suburban shopping mall? As bad as a potential nuclear attack on U.S. soil? With a very few exceptions, I can't say that is. So please excuse me for not being all that alarmed at this news.
